About AMG-Chan & Our History

Brought to you by AniManGaki

AniManGaki, one of the largest convention of its kind in Malaysia, is the brainchild of Sunway University Anime Club (SUAC)’s founder, Yvonne Sing Yee Wen. The annual convention made its debut in 2009, formed by fans, for fans; with the sole purpose of bringing together animation, comics, and gaming (ACG) enthusiasts of all ages. Branded as “The Trendsetter”, AniManGaki continues to surprise visitors by bringing new contents to the event each year.

Due to its continued success, AMG-Chan was created with similar visions to extend more opportunities for growth in the Malaysian ACG scene.

Official Mascot

A female, white tengu with the special ability to shapeshift into human form, reflecting one's heart and dreams. She carries an air of mysticism, innocence and wonder. Thanks to Ten-chan, we may have gotten a rough idea of Kei-chan's (AniManGaki’s mascot) dreams.

Hope you'll shower Ten-chan with as much love as you did on Kei-chan. Please spare us the sibling rivalry!

AMG-Chan 2017

Our debut year was meant to be chillax. A small and compact event as our new bloods’ training ground, with word of mouth as our only marketing ploy. Boy, were we proven wrong. AMG-Chan was first held at Evolve Concept Mall to the attendance of 2,700 passionate attendees! Out of tickets and flyers, we were overwhelmed by the response and love from fans of our branding. Its success meant only one thing, that AMG-Chan is a new permanent player in the Malaysian ACG market and she is a force to be reckoned with.
